The CILA Conference 2019 was held at the Nottingham Belfry hotel on 19th September. Over 200 delegates joined us at the event and everyone enjoyed a packed day of networking, learning, discussion and debate.
The conference programme included subjects such as AI and fraud, the future of agriculture and the high value watch market. Past CILA Presidents, Gerald Williams and Harry Roberts, hosted two entertaining yet informative panel discussions and Nicola Maher of Edwin Coe presented details of the recent Sartex case. Our speakers rose to the challenge of making their sessions interactive and engaging, with Alex Wakefield of McLaren incorporating a “Price is Right” game, Gerald Williams using a “Wheel of Misfortune” and Max Perris and Jane Hunter of Crawford & Company bringing along edible insects for our delegates to try. A huge thank you to all of our speakers and those who helped behind the scenes to develop each session.
Our conference was also supported by CILA sponsors who exhibited at the event and provided plenty of giveaways, prizes, games and information on their services. A special thank you to Polygon for creating a “Bullseye” darts competition and Hawkins who again sponsored networking drinks for all conference delegates.
The day was rounded off with the CILA Awards Dinner in the evening when delegates were able to share in the celebrations for our 2019 Award winners and enjoy the fun of Malcolm’s Quiz!
