During 2017 and 2018 CILA members sought guidance from the Institute on the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the potential implications in relation to the work of loss adjusters.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of Shaun Kelly and David Parker of Crawford and Company who volunteered to share their knowledge of these new regulations and prepare two technical papers to help inform other CILA members.
The CILA Secretariat Award 2018 was awarded in Shaun in recognition of this work and the many years of service he has given to the Institute as Chair of the CILA Synergy Committee. The CILA Synergy Committee examines issues that may have a broad impact on the loss adjusting profession and undertakes research and/or liaises with relevant bodies to understand the impact to members and, if appropriate, provide non-competitive guidance.
A huge thank you to Shaun and indeed all members who volunteer for the Institute.
