Just over a year ago we tentatively launched an online proctoring service to allow members to sit their CILA exams at home.
One year later and over 450 exams have been sat using this method which equates to 63% of exam sittings.
The CILA Council is delighted and proud that members have embraced this new way of sitting exams and continued to strive for and achieve qualification success.
Offering choice for exam candidates
The option to use online proctoring for an exam will continue to be available to CILA members, along with the option to sit an exam at a Pearson Vue exam centre. We recognise that members will have different preferences and individual circumstances to consider and so it is great to be able to offer a choice for where and when exams will be sat.
One advocate of online proctoring is Tracy le Page of Channel Islands Adjusters who recently shared this feedback on her experience
“Being able to take my exam at home was completely stress free, no worrying about being stuck in traffic and being late to get to a test centre. Will definitely take future exams in this way.”

The CILA online proctoring service is called OnVUE and was developed by our long standing exam partner Pearson Vue. OnVUE enables an online invigilator to observe and monitor your exam through specialist software and the webcam and microphone on your computer.
