On 17th September CILA members unanimously voted to elect Shaun Kelly as their President for the year ahead.

Shaun qualified as an Associate of the Institute in March 1991 whilst working for the Thomas Howell Group in Birmingham and continues to work within that group, now Crawford & Company.  Shaun remains based in the Midlands but has a global position within Crawford & Company.  CILA members have elected not only a strong advocate of the profession but also one of the very best examples of a professional.

CILA Executive Director, Malcolm Hyde, is delighted to welcome Shaun as the CILA President for 2020-2021.

“Shaun has an amazing ability to understand complex issues, deconstruct them and find solutions whilst others are perhaps still coming to terms with the problems brought by the issue at hand.  Having supported the Institute since 2010 and more recently resolving difficulties within the Guide to Professional Conduct, Shaun has become an incredible cerebral resource to the CILA.”

Shaun will be supported in his year of office by the newly elected Deputy President, Helena Evans who is Head of Specialist Services at Criterion.

Thanks also to Graham Smart who stands down as CILA President and will now serve as a CILA Vice President for three years. The coronavirus pandemic has been a challenging period for everyone and Graham guided the Institute with positivity and strength and provided valuable insight into the experience and impact of coronavirus on our members.
