The Institute has published a new Guide to Professional Conduct for 2020, reminding members of the need to act with integrity, objectivity, courtesy and consideration.
The guide also explains what is required of CILA members in relation to conflicts of interest, confidentiality, technical expertise and support of the Institute.
Commenting on the launch of this new guide for 2020, CILA President Graham Smart said:
“Acting ethically and with integrity is fundamental to securing the trust of the public and customers and all CILA members must commit to adhere to the principles set out in our Guide to Professional Conduct. This guide is specifically referenced in our Royal Charter, as is the undertaking, which all members must give, to be bound by it.
I welcome this update and thank our Deputy President, Shaun Kelly, for his significant work in its redrafting and am also very grateful for the input of the other contributors.
Our guide defines what is expected from us as Loss Adjusters and I commend this revision to you all!”
