Our Women in CILA group was formed in 2015 and in just 3 years they have transformed the way that women participate in our Institute and have created a culture where women are inspired to become Chartered Loss Adjusters and to play leading roles within our profession.
We are all thrilled that the determination and efforts of the individuals involved were recognised by the insurance industry at the British Insurance Awards this week. Winning in the Diversity category makes us incredibly proud as it reflects our commitment as a membership body to welcome and support members and staff from all sections of society.
As first time entrants to the British Insurance Awards we were delighted to be shortlisted and pleased to be part of such a prestigious industry event. On the evening the Institute was represented by Candy Holland, Terri Adams, Maggie Cowing, Lynn Cufley, Michelle Haynes, Kim Alcock and Helena Evans, all of whom have played their part in promoting female representation within our profession. There was much excitement and even a few tears when the winner was announced and it was great to see other CILA members who were attending the event passing on their congratulations and sharing in the success of our profession.
Malcolm Hyde, CILA Executive Director, gave his thanks to the Women in CILA group:
“It is not just women in CILA who have gained from this initiative but also the Institute, the Loss Adjusting profession and the insurance industry. Congratulations to all of you and my personal thanks for your dedication to such an important issue.”
