Introduction to the Liability SIG from the Chairman:

Welcome to the Liability Specialist Interest Group section. Thank you for taking time to visit the site.

We have worked hard since the SIG's inception to provide a meaningful SIG for members. Members will be aware of the annual SIG Conference, in addition to which we organise local seminars.

Our aim is to provide primarily an educational forum for all members, students, through to experienced practitioners, and to make our website the first point of call for members wishing to find out more about educational, technical and membership issues.

We are delighted to be supported by our sponsors No 4 Pump Court and Hawkins Forensic Engineers and we have endeavoured to develop these links to members' benefit, notably the link into No 4 Pump Court where members can seek direct legal advice.

CILA has firmly established e-communication as the way forward and together with your help, populated our website with meaningful articles.

Any member can, through the Committee, submit topical articles for inclusion on the Liability SIG website. Please contact us with any contributions you consider relevant, be it an educational paper, article, interesting case law, dscussion topics... all would be welcomed.

Finally, we are now less than 6 months away from our 2010 Annual Conference. As ever, the programme is varied and topical. I would hope that we can again improve upon the numbers attending the previous conferences.
