My thanks to my predecessors, in particular Kieran Rigby and Paul May, whose knowledge and experience I will be calling on as I assume the role of International representative on the CILA Council.
For those of you who do not know me, I have been a practicing loss adjuster since 1980 and for most of the last decade I have been based in London, handling a significant number of overseas assignments as a home/foreign adjuster. I have also worked as a CAT response adjuster.
Under new management does not necessarily mean it’s all change – change will only be made if it is for the better, the better that is for Institute members.
We have almost 400 members working overseas. With modern systems of communications that is not the problem it used to be, so please use the website and email to communicate your news and views, anything that is relevant to members and will stimulate interest. It does not have to be a technical matter, I am interested to find out more about any issues that affect our profession on the international scene.
176 members of the Institute have registered their interest in the International SIG, 80 of whom work overseas. That in itself gives me optimism, but as the new kid on the block I need assistance and intend forming a SIG committee, therefore applications are most welcome.
I look forward to working with you. Remember, communication is a 2 way street, so please let me have your views and comments on how the Institute can assist its International members – you could also consider a committee role, could you not!!
This website will be updated on a regular basis. The International SIG is in its infancy and needs your contributions.
