Welcome to the Business Interruption SIG
My vision for the BI SIG website has always been for it to be a technical resource, and for the construction of that technical resource to be the main focus of the committee...

Flooding in November 2009 - Business Interruption Issues
This guidance note is being issued subsequent to an open invitation for questions/comments, and builds on the CILA Flooding Guidance issued in the summer of 2007.
Whilst much of the guidance in the 2007 note remains applicable, there are some specific issues arising particularly with regards to flooding in Cumbria that we believe require specific comment. We have commented specifically on claims in Workington and Cockermouth and have given general comments with regard flooding elsewhere.
Cockermouth Temporary Retail Park Proposal
Following discussions within the BI SIG Committee regarding the Cumbrian floods De Boer, one of the BI SIG's sponsors, has evaluated a proposal to create a 12 unit temporary retail facility in a prime site in the centre of Cockermouth. The temporary retail park would be for six months.
We previously advised that the wording review process would probably be conducted in two stages, the first dealing with non contentious matters, and the second addressing those that were more complex and in need of detailed consideration.
