Introduction to the Property SIG from the Chairman:

Welcome to the website of the Property Specialist Interest Group. The Property SIG was formed in 2006, with the present committee being drawn from a wide selection of leading Loss Adjusters and Insurers.

The objectives of the Property SIG have expanded within the two years of its existence, although the key objectives remain as follows:-

• Providing a centre of excellence in the field of loss adjusting and claims handling to enhance the reputation of the Institute in the areas of property and weather related claims.
• Representing the interests of those members who specialise in this area of claims.
• Promoting the Institute and its members within the insurance industry in the handling of claims.

The Property SIG has developed a programme of events to achieve the above key objectives. These include the very successful conferences that have been held in 2007 and 2008 coupled with a series of events run in the Areas keenly supported by our Sponsors.

The committee continues to promote the Institute in a variety of fields, such as ongoing discussions with the ABI in the development of the ‘Blue Book’ as well as interfacing with other external bodies.

The members of the committee are drawn from CILA members who are practicing adjusters and should any member wish to contribute towards the activities of the Specialist Interest Group, or become an active member of the committee, I would like to hear from them.
