Introduction to the Claims Management SIG from the Chairman:

Welcome to the latest update! By now many of you would have read about the launch of the CILA Cert. This is an excellent and exciting development for those staff working in the claims management arena. It offers the opportunity of a relevant and claims specific qualification which will help claims handlers perform their roles to an even higher standard. To reinforce the recognition associated with successful completion of the 3 papers, the qualification carries with it the designatory letters Cert CILA.

There are no entry requirements for taking the Certificate other than membership of the CILA itself. Aside from its relevance in supporting claims handlers to undertake their day to day jobs competently, it also offers a potential route through to Chartered Status of the CILA. This is an important development for those who wish to move into loss adjusting roles in the future.
