Beer Goes Down Well

Those who know me will question what is newsworthy in the above title. Let me explain.
IFAA representatives from the nine member associations held their AGM at CILA’s offices recently. We felt it appropriate to entertain them whilst they were visiting our country and we sought to do this in a way that reflected UK traditions. This included:
- A visit to a livery company at Watermans Hall
- A speech in which I waxed lyrical about the weather
- Beer tasting, presented by Adrian Tierney-Jones
- After the beer – on for a curry
The beer tasting was particularly well received and everyone compared it favourably with similar style wine events. Our guests were fulsome in their praise and enjoyed a true taste of the City and UK (even though there were some foreign beers as well).
