International SIG Update July 2009
Dear International SIG Member
In my June 09 communication I asked the question “How could CILA assist ISIG Members and also attract new Members”. I am now reviewing the feedback, some of which is quite thought provoking, so many thanks to those of you who did respond.
Technical skills and educating younger adjusters should be to the forefront of the ISIG. This focus is consistent with recent discussions at CILA Council meetings regarding changes to the present examination syllabus that will embrace modern technology and reflect the changing adjusting market, including overseas markets.
Interestingly, other Insurance and Loss Adjusting Institutes, particularly in Asia and Oceania have also recently expressed a wish to work more closely with CILA.
Although “International” does not have a slot at the forthcoming CILA Conference in September a great deal of time has been spent on the conference programme which is aimed at as wide an audience as possible - please visit the website for more details.
We are now entering the holiday season and I hope you have a great break. More details on these topics will follow but meantime if the ISIG can be of any assistance do not hesitate to make contact.
