Update from Mike Roberts
Dear Member,
Over a month has passed since I wrote to members with a progress report. As initially warned, progress in some areas will be slow, and indeed many potential initiatives are dependent upon the development of the new CILA web site which is not expected to be available until the New Year. As I have always said however, how the group develops will largely depend upon members willingness to participate. Whilst the steering group remain extremely helpful, we need input from you if only in terms of topics to be addressed in future technical papers or event ideas. Overseas members are particularly encouraged to join in so that we can ensure that the SIG is worthwhile in all domains. The response thus far has not been great! Please therefore get involved, in whatever capacity you think you are able.
In the meantime I attach a new paper which is to be posted on the web site. It is an entertaining and informative read penned by Francis Barber on the real life difficulties often encountered with DSU claims. For those with limited experience of such claims reference to other material is made, albeit the nature of the material, and copyright, dictates that I cannot include the same.
I hope you read it with the same wry smile I developed.
Best wishes,
Mike Roberts
