ABI Personal Effects Contribution Agreement (2005)

The 2005 ABI Personal Effects Contribution Agreement updates the previous version that was signed in 1999.

There are a number of significant changes to the agreement including further information as to the documentation requirements for contribution, to help provide for events where contributions may be disputed, as the majority of disputes arise from the fact that different documentation is required for different classes of insurance, by different insurers. A list of the documentation required to substantiate claims by various insurers in respect of credit card travel insurance has also been included as has a non-exhaustive list of conditions and exclusions in policies that cannot be used to delay and deny contribution. Each of these measures is expected to reduce the number of contributions delayed or denied.
