Severe Flooding in England and Wales

Torrential rain on Monday caused widespread flooding throughout England and Wales, with Sheffield particularly badly hit. Three people have been killed and hundreds have been forced to leave their homes amid fears a dam in Yorkshire may be about to burst.

Insurers will be implementing their surge plans in anticipation of the substantial volume of claims which are anticipated from domestic and commercial policy holders. Loss Adjusters are an integral part of these surge plans. Many Insurers working on postcodes will appoint a loss adjuster who may well contact those affected even if they have yet to notify their Insurer.

If you are affected we have developed some general guidance notes to help you in the first instance. In the longer term the Loss Adjuster who will be handling your claim will give you professional guidance based on previous experience of incidents of this nature, to allow you to get your life back
to normal as soon as possible.
