The CILA has updated the ABI's prediction for losses due to the recent flooding to £1.5bn. This figure is calculated from £825m of domestic claims and £680m from businesses. Appeals have been set up in the north of England to help those affected.
There have been in the region of 27,500 domestic claims averaging £30,000, and approximately 6,800 business claims averaging £100,000.
Virtually all properties affected by the flooding have now been visited by a Chartered Loss Adjuster, and any remaining properties should see a visit by the beginning of next week.
