CILA Unveils New Management Team at Successful Technical Conference

The CILA has appointed Malcolm Hyde as Executive Director (Technical) to oversee the next phase of its development, particularly in the field of education.

AdvertisementCILA said Mr Hyde will be instrumental in taking it forward and building on the considerable work that has been undertaken in the past.

"Fundamentally Malcolm will be seeking to ensure that CILA members benefit from membership of the CILA. The CILA is the leading insurance claims institute and key areas of development are bound to include education and qualifications appropriate to the current and future market place in the UK and overseas," the body added in a statement.

Prior to his role at the CILA Mr Hyde was engaged by Merlin Claims as technical services manager. He is a Chartered loss adjuster and has worked in the claims arena since 1981.

He said: "I am very proud to take up this role as we have a very committed and enthusiastic new president and we will be able to build on the solid foundations put in place by his predecessors. I have a real passion for Loss Adjusting, the development of staff and for technical excellence. I am keen to assist my colleagues taking the institute forward and working alongside the CILA President, Council and Secretariat."

Current chief executive Graham Cave will become Development Director where he will focus on the growth and development of the Institute both in the UK and overseas.

Mr Cave, who has spent eleven years as executive director, added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Executive Director serving a wonderful group of professionals many of whom have become personal friends. I now look forward to concentrating my time in the further development of the CILA as the pre-eminent educating and examining body for loss adjusting globally."
