CILA Certificate Road Shows

The CILA Claims Management SIG are to stage a series of road shows this summer to highlight the new CILA Certificate qualification.

This qualification is intended to provide a stepping stone to full Chartered Status, but will also stand as a qualification in its own right, demonstrating competence in Claims Handling. There will be three papers, which will cover the following areas:

CH1 - Risk Transfer, The Insurance Market and Contract Law
CH2 - The Insurance Policy, The Principles of Insurance, Data Protection, CDM and Legal Liabilities
CH3 - Validation, Negotiation, Communication, Service Level Agreements, Basic Building Elements, Mitigation, FSA, Fraud and Leakage

Examination will be by multiple choice.

Holders of the Certificate will see many benefits, including the ability to show their level of competence and knowledge, assistance with their work and career progression.

It is anticipated that material will be available by October 2010, with the first examinations being held in December 2010/January 2011.
