The CILA is delighted to announce that it has signed an extension to its memorandum of agreement with the Singapore College of Insurance.

This means that in addition to the agreed mutual recognition of qualifications the Singapore College of Insurance will promote the CILA qualifications in this most important territory, and even more claims professionals in Singapore will be encouraged to take up the CILA qualifications and in particular, its gold standard claims qualification which is at Master’s level. Further, the CILA is delighted to continue the recognition of the qualifications granted by the Singapore College of Insurance.

Malcolm Hyde, CILA Executive Director said: “Over the past years the CILA qualifications have grown in appeal outside of the UK and with this recent agreement I am hopeful that this will be enhanced in Singapore”.

The signed agreement with the Singapore College of Insurance formed part of a tour of Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong to promote the CILA and seek opinions from a wide range of international members on the Institute’s overseas’ progress over the past three years. The tour included two technical seminars and a one day conference.

“We were delighted to secure an even greater working relationship with the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI), being such a highly respected organisation the SCI is an ideal partner for the CILA,” said Benedict Burke, CILA President.

Karine Kam, SCI Chief Executive said: “This partnership with CILA will allow SCI’s DGIRM and ADGIRM holders and claims professionals to complement their existing credentials with an esteemed professional qualification, and continue to develop their specialist skills and knowledge in the vital area of claims handling.”
